JSC “Liepājas Papīrs” to launch the first hybrid printing press in the Baltics

The new press is a combination of machines developed by the Dutch company MPS Systems B.V. and British printing company DOMINO UK Limited, which will enable JSC “Liepājas Papīrs” to offer its customers a more competitive product on the domestic and export markets in the segment of medium-size printing of stickers and labels.

The most significant advantage of the new press when working with a wide range of self-adhesive materials is the option to achieve more nuanced shades thanks to the enhanced CMYK colour model, with orange and violet colours added to achieve greater gamut. The press allows to implement cold foil press projects, laminate materials and achieve colour application equivalent to screen printing, enabling to create completely unique texture effects.

Normunds Jansons, the Head of the company, emphasises that the main advantage of this press is the fact that “it allows us to produce in one hour what used to take incomparably more time with the previous printing press”. He also points out that the integration of the new press into the company's operations and the introduction of new printing processes is an important step in the development of the company with respect to both the expansion of the product range and the restructuring of the processes taking place within the company, as the acquisition of such equipment is the largest investment in the company's history, which should increase efficiency and the competitiveness of the company in the next three years.

“The fact that JSC “Liepājas Papīrs” is the first company in the Baltic Region to start working with such hybrid printing technology will definitely affect the tendencies and opportunities for the production of stickers and labels in the domestic market, as well as increase the competitiveness of the company when working with export partners,” adds Artūrs Gabaliņš, Head of the Sales Department of JSC “Liepājas Papīrs”.  He also notes that “we will be pioneers in the hybrid printing segment in our region, and that is a great challenge and a great opportunity at the same time.”

The new EF SYMJET press will be unveiled on 19 July this year in the presence of the company's management, partners and customers.

JSC “Liepājas Papīrs” was founded in 1993 on the basis of the former Liepāja Paper Products Factory. The company's share capital is EUR 198,090.00, it provides jobs for more than one hundred employees and is one of the leading sticker and label manufacturers in the Baltic States. In 2019 the company invested more than one million euros to acquire the hybrid printing press MPS EF SYMJET, marking the first in the Baltics.
